Dates
Your project must be created during TechNisa Hacks 2026, between Friday, August 21 and Sunday, August 23, 2026.
The project submission deadline is 8:00 AM SHARP on Sunday, August 23.
This is a hard deadline. We will not be extending the submission deadline, so all required project materials must be submitted to Devpost before 8:00 AM.
Project Expo & Judging: Sunday, August 23 from 9:00 AM–12:00 PM
Winner Announcements: Sunday, August 23 during the 3:00–4:00 PM Closing Ceremony
Eligibility
- You must be a registered TechNisa Hacks participant to submit a project.
- Teams may consist of 1–4 hackers. Solo projects are welcome!
- Your project must be built during TechNisa Hacks. You may come in with ideas, sketches, research, and a plan, but you may not come in with code already written for the project.
- Do not submit projects from past hackathons or projects that were started before TechNisa Hacks.
- Each hacker may only be part of one submitted project.
- All team members must be listed on the Devpost submission.
- Plagiarism is not tolerated. Any team found to have submitted plagiarized work will be disqualified.
- Any team that violates the hackathon rules may be disqualified.
- All participants must follow the TechNisa Hacks Code of Conduct.

Additional sponsor challenges and prizes may be announced during the hackathon. Teams must meet any specific requirements associated with a sponsor challenge to be eligible for that prize.
Best Beginner Prize Eligibility
To be eligible for the Best Beginner prize, the majority of your team must be beginners.
For TechNisa Hacks, a beginner is someone participating in their first-ever hackathon. This does not mean your first time participating in TechNisa Hacks; it must be your first hackathon of any kind.
- 4-person team: At least 3 members must be beginners
- 3-person team: At least 2 members must be beginners
- 2-person team: Both members must be beginners
- Solo team: You must be a beginner
Teams must opt in to the Best Beginner prize category on Devpost to be considered.
Judging Criteria and Winner Selection
Judging will take place science-fair style during the Project Expo. Teams will remain with their projects while judges circulate between teams.
Each judging session will be approximately 10 minutes:
- 5 minutes to present and demo your project
- 5 minutes for questions from the judges
